Imagine you are a bee, buzzing around and searching for nectar. The colors of the meadows and the scents attract you. You fly through the grass and through the flowers, which are constantly moving because of the warm summer breeze. You are happy and enjoy flying from one flower to next one, always collecting nectar. Doing so, you are not only ensuring your own food supply. While you are 


collecting nectar, you transfer pollen grains from one flower to another. By pollinating the flowers you ensure a plentiful harvest, the continued existence of plants and all creatures that depend on them. A paradigm of a perfect and crucial cooperation-
a symbiosis.

TURNING CONSUMERS INTO FANS

STRATEGY IS THE MAGIC WORD

In the past, Social Media used to bring about a sense of distrust and discomfort among business people. This attitude was replaced by the awareness that products and brands have to be represented in all places where their consumers can be found. And by now there is enough evidence that quite a large number of consumers do spend time (and money) online and in the Social Web.
Consumer brands such as Coca-Cola, Allianz and Henkel have started some time ago already to directly

communicate with their consumers in the virtual world. It is more about pure advertisement though. It is about making and keeping the brand relevant in the life of the consumer.
Therefore, this new channel of consumer interaction should not be seen as a competition to the traditional media, quite
in contrast actually. It is
yet another link in the
chain of communication
with the organization’s
consumers.

THE NETWORKS KEEP ON BROADENING

360° Communication is the attempt to send messages into each and every channel to make sure you reach as many people within your target group as possible. Nowadays, however, in our age of digital media, this approach is no longer appropriate.
Advertisers are faced with huge challenges because of the fragmentation of the media, a more differentiated usage of the media by the consumer and also because the opportunities given to advertisers are more complex. 
‘As a big brand we can no longer afford to engage in 360°’, says Coca-Cola and favors Integrated Marketing for that very reason.
Integrated Marketing balances the demands of both internal and external target groups and furthermore, it combines traditional media with digital measures.
And all of that is necessary to
reach an optimal level of
communication.
